ENGIE acquires a new solar project in Poland

On June 29, 2023, ENGIE Zielona Energia (EZE), part of ENGIE, a global Group in low-carbon energy and services, signed a shares purchase agreement with ONDE for the acquisition of Cyranka. This project is made of two photovoltaic farms in operations, Giżycko 1 and Giżycko 2.
ONDE is a leading general contractor of wind and photovoltaic farms in Poland. The company has completed over 400 investments in renewables for a total capacity exceeding 4 GW.
The activities conducted by ENGIE Zielona Energia include, among others: development, investment and management of renewable assets as well as energy management and trading. The company owns and operates 138 MW of wind assets and 63 MW of solar assets in Poland.
Piotr ROGÓŻ, President of the Management Board, EZE, said: “The acquisition of the projekt Cyranka contributes to our continuous development in the Polish renewables market. We are also increasing our renewable footprint by building further photovoltaic farms, for an additional capacity of approx. 35 MW in 2023. The agreement signed with ONDE is new milestone in the implementation of our strategy, which is to develop zero and low-emission projects and strengthens our position in Poland.”
This acquisition is part of ENGIE’s global strategy to develop the Group’s global renewable installed capacity up to 50 GW by 2025, and to 80 GW by 2030.
